Practicing law
since 1989, Richard L. Ames, Esquire was admitted to the bar in the
Courts of Pennsylvania (1989) and the
United States Federal Courts (1991).
Mr. Ames' experience includes cases involving personal injury, domestic
relations, bankruptcy, small business concerns, and criminal defense. His
practice background involved trial work and arbitration, including
appearances before Pennsylvania's appellate courts. Mr. Ames received his
Bachelor of Science degree from Duquesne University (1985) in the areas of
finance and accounting, and his Juris Doctorate degree from the
University
of Pittsburgh School of Law (1989). He was law clerk to the Honorable James
A. Early and Stanton R. Ruddock, both of whom were judges of the
Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas. Mr. Ames has lectured for the American
Institute of Banking, and has taught university level courses on various
legal topics as they relate to small business concerns. He has been the
recipient of the Commonwealth's Excellence in Education Award from the
Pennsylvania School Boards’ Association (1985), and is a current board
member of the Freeport Area School District. Mr. Ames is past president of
the Armstrong County Bar Association (2005), and a current member of the
Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the
Westmoreland County Bar Association and the
Allegheny
County Bar Association. |
